Restless Natives

Restless Natives is an independent Drum & Bass label established in 2004 by Scotland’s DJ Kid. Since the launch Restless Natives has seen 11 vinyl releases, most notably the first three releases from DC Breaks.

The label's early releases came from DJ Kryptik and DJ Samurai both of whom were studying at Edinburgh University at the time, and would eventually go on to join forces in the studio and collaborate under the guise of DC Breaks for some of the labels most successful tracks, including Do You Believe and Emperor.

DC Breaks now signed to Andy C’s Ram Records have since gone on to be one of the most prolific production outfits in the Drum & Bass scene. There can be no doubt DJ Kid’s support and direction played an integral part in DC Breaks early development including getting them noticed in the industry.

The last release on the label was in 2011 and featured two heavyweight remixes by Original Sin of DC Breaks’ Emperor. The label has received widespread support over the years from club and radio DJ’s. The likes of legendary Radio 1 DJ John Peel, Zane Lowe and many of the Drum & Bass scenes DJ’s including Fabio & Grooverider, Simon Bassline Smith, Bryan G and Nicky Blackmarket have all played a part in the spreading the Restless Natives sound.

Fast forward to 2018, and the label is primed and ready for an onslaught of releases from both established and up and coming talent. The label has been out the loop for some time but, DJ Kid is determined to solidify Restless Natives reputation and place within the world of Drum & Bass music however long it takes.

Restless Natives are looking for new and exciting artists. So if you think you could be the next DC Breaks and you have any material for consideration. Please send us a folder via wetransfer.com using djkid@restlessnatives.co.uk Please make sure all tracks are clearly marked with artist name and track title.
