Welcome to another Black Diamond musical experience….this time around we drop some of d funk. If the late great Prince had a funk brother in musik his name would have to had been the great Rick James.

If anyone lived the life of Rock & Roll, loose women, drugs and mo drugs, smoking the Weeeeeeeda, parties for days, delirious fornicating, sexcapades and living life to the excess…it had to be Rick James. It was soooo good that Rick James made plenty of songs about it lol. James was the true embodiment of the Rock and Roll lifestyle. James became one of the leading lights of funk in the late Seventies and early Eighties, but across the years, the singer was equally obsessed with sex and drugs.

Rick James partied “With the kinds of girls, you don’t take home to mother.” His words not mine lol. He also smoked more endo than Snoop Dogg, Wiz Khalifa and Bob Marley could ever think about. Also, did more drugs in his lifetime than they probably had at Woodstock in the 70’s. James lived life to the fullest and was musical genius enough to write epic songs all about it. Simply put the man was genius in funk mode.

The Rick James party bus came to a full stop and eternally parked on August 6, 2004. He had died from pulmonary failure and cardiac failure, associated with his various health conditions of diabetes, a stroke, pacemaker, and heart attack. Popular opinion was that all the partying and drugs had contributed to his demise. What he did leave behind is an ode to love, life, excess living and the party life.

So, when someone ask you about him put some respeck on his name and address him as RICK JAMES B!&*H!!!!
