Picture Postcards from L.A. (Joshua Kadison) - A romantic cover song from the 90es

Joshua Kadison traveled through America for years and played in every bar where there was a piano. And where better to pick up stories than in abandoned American bars. He observes, narrates, plays the piano and does not forget any of the everyday trifles. Joshua Kadison tells the small and big dreams of the average American citizen. "Picture Postcards from L. A." is the story of a barmaid who practices dancing every night and wants to become a Hollywood star at some point. Then she writes all employees a postcard. In 1994 the song reached chart position 55 in Germany and number 84 in the USA.

In this cover version I sang the main voice and up to three choral parts. Although everything is very close to the original, there are some additional choir parts.

Joshua Kadison reiste Jahre lang durch Amerika und spielte in jeder Bar, in der ein Klavier stand. Und wo besser lassen sich Geschichten aufschnappen als in verlassenen amerikanischen Bars. Er beobachtet, erzählt, spielt dazu Klavier und vergißt keine der alltäglichen Kleinigkeiten. Joshua Kadison erzählt die kleinen und großen Träume der amerikanischen Durchschnittsbürger. So ist "Picture Postcards from L.A." die Geschichte einer Barfrau, die jede Nacht das Tanzen übt und irgendwann einmal Hollywoodstar werden möchte. Dann schreibt sie allen Angestellten eine Postkarte. Der Song erreichte 1994 Platz 55 in Deutschland und Platz 84 in den USA.

In dieser Cover-Version habe ich die Hauptstimme und bis zu drei Chorstimmen gesungen. Obwohl alles sehr nahe am Original ist, sind dennoch einige zusätzliche Chorstimmen vorhanden.
