Hi Music Lovers,
Being a big fan of Gino Vannelli, especially of his music from the mid 70's area, I've always been amazed of his musical arrangements...
This beautiful song was initially recorded on the 1975 Storm at Sunup album, where you can also find the "Mama Coco" anthem...
inside the very talented cast of musician, that includes Joe Vannelli (Gino's brother) there is one particular guy called Graham Lear.
Graham Lear is an incredible Drummer, who 2 years after having recorded this album with Gino's band, went to join force with Carlos Santana...
Graham Lear stayed actually with the Santana band for many years, and he did recorded some amazing albums there...
On this special Rework of "Getting' High", I have locked the BPM at 115. I spent a lot of time on the rhythm section, and had really fun with the percussions...
Hope you'll like it.
By the way, I love the opening rhyme that Gino is singing :
"... I don't care much for smokin' weed...
... You know I'm a man of a different breed...
... I don't thrive on drinking alcohol...
... 'sides I'm feeling much too tall..."
Real maestri !
Peace y'all !
