"I am a disco fiend. [Ignoring that tired pop disco cheese you so often hear in commercials and weddings] I love almost the entire genre, particularly its soulful side… live rhythms, string arrangements, soaring choruses and unabashedly hopeful lyrics. While my first mixtapes were explorations in hip hop and rock, I knew my true labor of love would be to eventually create an epic disco mix. For this unique project, the fifth in my series of mixes, I partnered up with my good friend Just MATTER, a talented producer and an absolute beast on the turntables. From the onset, I had a pretty good idea of which songs I wanted to use, but thankfully MATTER - a fellow crate digger and disco fiend - came to the table with a ton of his own ideas and rare disco records to include, many by artists I hadn’t even heard of before. Together we collaborated to create “Still Diggin’ Disco.” It’s a soulful mix layered in deep grooves made by two cats who simply wish to share their love of rare disco with you." - RJ
