Welcome to the EuroDisco edition of YachtDisco! Your skipper Captain Duke is electrified by mid-1970's European disco!

We set sail with a number 30 hit in the UK "Save Me" by West German studio group Silver Convention named after co-producer Sylvester Levay's nickname, Silver.

Along with two others, Austrian singer Penny McLean, born Gertrude Wirschinger (Vear-schingn-nner), later of three million-seller "Lady Bump" fame, became the public face of Silver Convention. "The Lady Bumps On!"

In 1976 Charles Orieux and Ingo Cramer wrote and recorded "Turn On To Love" as the group Jumbo much in the Donna Summer style of "Love To Love You Baby."

Then it's on to: The daddy of EuroDisco: Giorgio Moroder, a Donna Summer double-header, sci-fi Cerrone, model Madleen Kane, Alec R. Costandinos sends 14 minutes of Love & Kisses, Diana Ross' instantly forgettable EuroDisco offering, Boris Midney's Beautiful Bend, Arpeggio [Part One], and the EuroDisco-shifted Abba bringing an end to the disco era in 1979.
