The original is a ground-breaking track that was totally ahead of its time: it kickstarted the Brit-funk movement in the UK in 1978, a movement that's always been rediscovered periodically over time but surely due a proper revival. If you like this track and aren't as familiar with Brit-funk, check out first their album (their only one I think..self-titled. In particular listen to the title track and 'Power & Lightning')and then check Light Of The World, the other main (and better known in the mainstream alongside Hi-Tension) Britfunk band, possibly a little jazzier than the funkier Hi-Tension. Then find the recent Joey Negro Britfunk compilation, it is epic: you won't be disappointed! Can you tell I like this sound? Sadly I couldn't put this on Legitmix as the track wasn't in the US itunes store. Shame.
