Sounds of Wairudo

Hailing from Mpumalanga, South Africa, Wairudo is a deep house producer drawn to the space where groove and emotion meet. Since beginning his production journey in 2021, he has been shaping a sound influenced by South Africa’s deep house culture, while naturally pulling from amapiano, Afro-house, Afro-tech, and dub-tech. His productions are driven by warm basslines, swung percussion, hypnotic textures, and grooves that take their time. Wairudo approaches each track from a feeling rather than a formula. Sometimes it starts with a rhythm, sometimes a melody or a simple idea, but the goal remains the same: to create music that can move a dancefloor while still carrying something personal. With influences ranging from SGVO, Sooks and Dwson to Boet Quality and Graham Deep, Wairudo continues to develop a sound that is deeply rooted in South Africa while looking beyond it. For him, deep house is more than a genre—it is a way of translating moods, memories, and moments into sound.
