Reclaimer Radio

by Wahrer

Reclaimer Radio is a speculative podcast focusing on the inner machinations of the Halo franchise. Rooted in past efforts taken by members of HaloGAF, itself a sub-community of larger video game discussion forum NeoGAF, it takes most of its inspiration from HaloGAF Radio, a similar podcast that was maintained by user Tashi. While then he was only a HaloGAF community frequenter, Tashi was eventually hired by 343 Industries as Community Coordinator, and due to the nature of his position he wrapped up the podcast series leaving it closed-circle. Reclaimer Radio is intended as a spiritual successor, placing a heavier focus on the internal development of the franchise itself, while HaloGAF Radio at its core had a more community-oriented theme. It is coordinated in equal parts by Austin "Mix" Ford, Adrian "Ghazzarro" Ghazi, Ian "aHebrewMenagerie" Kerns and Adrian "Sub-Zero at a Starbucks" Wahrer. All four are NeoGAF members and more specifically HaloGAF members. Recording is handled by Ghazi, who in turn exports the discussions in a lossless format over to Wahrer, who then applies equalization and post-processing as well as editing dialogue, such as including censors. Profane language is not censored so much as contextually-sensitive information, such as disclosing the name of a local restaurant without having its express permission, etc. The proverbial roundtables are outlined before every discussion, but specific dialogue is not scripted, resulting in an ad-hoc and improvisational format.
