After being named best French hope at electroswing awards for 2013, after remixing the biggest names of the electroswing scene (Skeewiff, the Electric Swing Circus, Bart & Baker among others ...), and after having play throughout Europe (from the Moulin Rouge to Ibiza via Berlin and London), Vassili Gemini made us wait for his first EP a long time!
But the wait is justified: mindful to be surrounded by other talent, the Frenchy has collaborated with the UK guy Anduze (who sang for Parov Stelar), the Canadian Franco Lamuerte and his banjo, the French singer De Saturn with his band, but also with leading electroswingers like DJ Mibor, The Swing Bot, Peps Show Boys & Sebastien Röser.
The result of this crossing of origins is a mix of styles: Penelope Cruz takes you to the Wild West for a love declaration to the Spanish star. With its banjo routine and excellent remixes, it's the top track of this EP. Izzidine tells the story of a young migrant wanting to reach England and talks about his difficulties. Violins and gravely singer accompany this ode to freedom. Then... Swing Carnival... this is the most amazing mix. Between swing and Latin rhythms, between accordion and tequila, all the ingredients are there to party!
