Thokozane Masilela stage name DJ Thoks is a deep and soulful house lover and DJ, born in Kamhlushwa township within Nkomazi Municipality in Malelane (Small town located in the eastern part of Mpumalanga province in South Africa, which is approximately 50km from Lebombo Border gate of Mozambique and 46km from Matsamo Border Control of Eswatini (Previously known as Swaziland).

It all started in the mid 90’s when DJ Thoks fell in love with Soulful House Music and late Deep House Music was introduced to him by a very close friend, which late translated to Deep and Soulful house music as a genre.

In the late 2000’s, DJ Thoks moved to Midrand in Gauteng Province, South Africa for employment as the beginning of his career as student engineer at Stefanutti & Bressan which is currently known as Stefanutti Stocks one of the leading construction companies with SADC region, and he simultaneously started collecting house music records from overseas as a journey to house music DJing to pursue his passion.

DJ Thoks mastered his beat matching and DJing techniques at Foreal House Music Media school where he obtained his National Certificate in DJing Under Music development program (FoReal House Music Media School was foundered by DJ Migs forReal) with occasional assistance support from one of the South African Superstar Soulful and deep house music DJ, Thabo Makhubela popular know as DJ Ntshebe for his 2hour drive mixed tape episodes. DJ Ntshebe played a significant role in Dj Thoks DJing career, from being a mentor to become a best friend and their both sharing music together, what a great inspiration by DJ Ntshebe.

In late 2022, DJ Thoks relocated to Australia (Western Australia in Perth) due to employment opportunity as a Project Manager in Geotechnical Construction field and he is still pursued his Deep & Soulful house Music DJing passion, preferable on Vinyl. Thoks has introduced the South African culture of playing the gerne of Deep and Soulful House Music on Vinyl to the Australian dancing platforms, he is currently known as the Vinyl Deep and Soulful House Music DJ within Perth, Western Australia.

He grew in these gernes even stronger when he landed himself in Perth, Western Australia. Years passed by, experienced was gained and the passion grew stronger and the love to the passion is unconditionally.
