English monologue delivered in a German accent by a computer-generated speech utility and backed by 2xES2 (Logic X) soft synthesizers.

Monologue follows below:
In all of the creative arts, be it graphical, literary or musical, it has to be understood that the purity of the creation becomes less as the creator becomes more successful.

Any art in its purest form can be found only at two levels. The cult level and the underground level. Even at the cult level, the artist now has some obligation to fulfil the expectations of the followers.

Obviously many underground artists never have the good fortune to obtain a loyal cult following. They never get the support they need from their friends and associates. Should their work ever get unearthed and be recognised - it is unlikely that any of these (creators) will feel any obligations towards such friends and associates in the event of a sudden upturn in fortune.

At the point when an underground artists starts to become recognised by anyone with any influence, they obtain an emerging status and realise that in order to progress, they must focus on what other people seem to be recognising instead of making new creations that move in another direction.

Now I have talked about underground, cult and emerging artists and the relative artistic value of what they produce. Following on from this we have the trending status and the viral status. Artists who are fortunate enough to gain popularity with the critics are likely to become trending artists. They are already having to take notice of what the critics say and the best market for their art which, by this time has become a product.

Once enough people follow an artist, each of that artist's new products becomes viral. For a short time the whole world is looking at these products, so far removed from the original creative works of the artist. The world will never have known and is unlikely ever to know such artists' original underground creations.

So now we have the evolution of the artist and the relative value of their art.

Underground: seek out and appreciate.
Cult: worth checking out.
Emerging: may still be worth checking out their earlier creations.
Trending: try to avoid - at this point it will be commercialised and packaged for the masses.
Viral: avoid like the plague.
