Here is a complete throw away.

I’ve said it before, sometimes I just need to record even when I don’t have anything planned. I have always felt that if I’m not constantly doing something new then whatever questionable talent, skill or whatever I might have will simply evaporate.

As such, ‘A River Runs Through My Veins’ was written and performed on the fly in mid-Feb 2015. It probably took me two or three sittings (including mixing). Basically I had some rare quiet time and really wanted something to record so I grabbed a few old note books, grabbed a number of spare lines that seemed to be on a common theme and pushed a song out as quickly as it came together.

It isn’t great, but as an example of me working quickly it is OK. I like that you can hear random ideas coming together. For instance that fat throaty rock guitar that kicks in over the acoustics. That was 100% spontaneous and sent the song in a completely different direction.

The quality is a bit hit and miss, or in other words a bit East Village Vampire like. That is OK because I dig the feel.
