Stefan Gruenwald

Stefan Gruenwald is the owner of Clubland Records and also a very famous german DJ since 1988.

He started to produce in 1996 first the club project M.A.S. Project followed in 1997 by the worldwide famous project SM-Trax „Got The Groove“ which was licensed in the US by Groovelicious and went straight to No. 1 in the US Billboard Dance Charts back in 1999, some side projects like TV Junkeez, Black Jack and remixes have been done under different names like Steve Woods, Grynaldo or Clubland Allstars untill the last project Nightwachters in 2002.

The progressive trance project Nightwatchers has been produced with the famous german actor Marek Erhardt and Bob Cruise who has been also involved in the SM-Trax Project.

In 2007 the house project under the name of Oliver Backens & Stefan Gruenwald has been released on Clubland Records with their singles „Alive“ and „La Magia“ followed by his first solo single called „Anytime Is Housetime“.

In the beginning of 2008 he did a collaboration with his old friend Jerry Ropero under the project name „Stefan Gruenwald vs. Jerry Ropero“. The production is a cover version of the old classic by “Baby D. – Let Me Be Your Fantasy” which contains versions by both of them so that both can show their skills and styles and was a worldwide club smash played by all the important key DJ’s around the globe. The follow-up single „Everybody’s Got To Learn Sometime“ featuring Daniel Lopes on the vocals was also a smash and was signed to NERVOUS Records in the USA.

Also released in 2009 was a single by „Oliver Backens & Stefan Gruenwald“ featuring the great female vocalist „Ela Wardi“. They did a cover version of the old house classic back from the 90’s „Hold On (Tighter To Love) originally done by Kym Mazelle and Steve ‚Silk’ Hurley.

2010 has started with a new single by „Stefan Gruenwald vs. Jerry Ropero“. This time they teamed up with Ela Wardi on the vocals and did a great cover version of Yazoo’s „Dont Go“ which as released in Mai 2010 with some great remixes.

In 2011 the next single by Jerry Ropero & Stefan Gruenwald has been released in Spain by Blanco Y Negro. This time with the female singer Monica Moss and the track was called "Canta". It was a summer smash in 2012 in Spain and in 2014 the track was re-released with a great remix package.

Followed in 2014 by the amazing follow-up Single "Cancion Del Mariachi" which was released through MAS Music in Mexico with a great Festival Video and also some really amazing remixes. This track tooks the clubs by storm and was also again a worldwide club banger.

At the end of 2014 a new collaboration between the italian producer Manuel Bozza aka D-Chill and the italian female singer Katy Blue has been done and the track "Shape Of My Heart" which was a cover version of the original song by STING has been released on Kontor Records worldwide. Including some nice remixes by Klangquelle, Danilo De Santo, Hxsky and some more.

In the mid of 2015 the follow-up Single called "On The Beach" which was again a cover version of the amazing track by Chris Rea has been released again on Kontor Records also with a great remixes by Miqro & Milkwish plus a nice Chill-Out Remix.

In 2016 there are already some nice new collaborations ready so watch out for them!!!
