Stanford

Rotterdam, Nederland

At the age of 13 Stanford (Stanley Foort) wanted to play the drums, but mom and dad didn't want to ruin the good relationship with their neighbours, so he took organ lessons instead. In between studying hours he started making his first moves as a dj; with the use of two cassette- decks and a turntable.

While dj- and live act-gigs were taking off locally and later nationwide, he started working at a Rotterdam based musicstore. He got signed to their label and in 1990 his first production "Got me goin' crazy" was released.

Later that year Techno house project LA Style, already buzzing underground with "James Brown is Dead", were in need of a new frontman... Stan could not refuse the given opportunity to broaden his musical horizon and decided to put his upcoming dj-career on hold in order to do the "James Brown is Dead Worldtour". Of course performing as guest-dj @ the aftershows in countries such as Japan, Germany and Australia.

After a year of touring, Stan left LA Style, bought some studio-gear and started writing and producing his own tracks at home. One of his demos reached Arnie Friedman, a German producer who loved his soulfull voice. The result: "Heaven is here", a Euro-house clubhit in Germany.

Back in '97 Stanford and buddy Rene van der Weyde produced "Keep your head up!" This actually was the first release under his Stanford moniker. Dancemusic-producers started noticing his songwriting-skills, resulting in more (non)vocal contributions and songwriting.

Further collabo's were with peepz like Cor Fijneman, Supersub, Peter Gelderblom, Rene Amesz, Erik de Koning, Mojado, Pedro&Benno (aka Rank 1), Mell Tierra, Essential Groovers, Mickey T., Soul Cartel...and the list is still growing. ;-)

All these productions, being put out under his own name Stanley Foort, as well as aliases such as Stanford, Spinn-Off and Fortizani, make it cristal-clear that Stanford can do it all.

As an MC, STANFORD is without a doubt one of the most versatile and well-respected MC's in the Dutch EDM & housescene, famous for "knowing when 2 shut the f*ck up". He joined stages with all the major dutch dj’s (you name ‘m, he’s “done” m) plus international names like Eddy Halliwell, Cosmic Gate, Yohi Biomehanika, DJ Rae, Daniel Bovi & Roy Rox to name just a few.

With his incredible timing, instant-recognizable voice and freestyle vocalizm, Stanford has hosted events such as Dance Valley, Latin Lovers, Full Moon, Crazyland, Boulevard of Dance, DanceTour, Decibel outdoor Festival, Mysteryland, Little Sins, FFWDDanceParade, Armada Nights, Plastic Fantastic, BITCH, Intenze Festival, Radio538 Queensday party, Blackhole Tour, H2O(Royal Splash), Sneakerz on the Beach, In Touch, Fabulous, UWXP, Pleasure Island Festival, Summerbreeze Festival, Exceptionnel etc.etc...

As a DJ... STANFORD...Oh my GOD. When attending a dj set from Stanford, expect anything from his deep&soulful house sets to banging progressivehouse, techhouse, tribal, latin, electro and even a bite of techno. 2 words: Anything goes! Always shining, always smiling, always rocking!

From Ibiza to Australia. If you did'nt know, NOW you know.
