Music and sounds of Sista Sara

Sista Sara has been selecting all styles of reggae - from foundation, to new roots, and dancehall for over 10 years.
A few years ago, she branched out from playing strictly reggae and dancehall, to also spinning tunes with a hip hop/nufunk/remix vibe. Her first mix in this genre was featured by The Funk Hunters (www.ghettofunk.co.uk) on their internationally renown mixtape dig.

Sara frequently DJ’s at all of Melbourne’s reggae/dancehall events (More Fire, Pressure Drop, I Love Dancehall etc), and is also regularly in demand to DJ at bars, clubs and events across the city.
Sista Sara has held a numerous residencies - at Workshop, Alia bar, & Mr Wow’s Emporium, to name a few. She supported Jah Mason (Jamaica) on his latest Melbourne tour, and has guest selected on PBS, and KISS fm.

Sista Sara’s passion for all Jamaican music has led to a large and varied collection, and with creativity, she seamlessly mixes all forms of reggae and dancehall into her sets. Sara also loves to play roots reggae in a more chilled out style, and is skilled at adapting her sets to suit a crowd. Alongside this, she has been getting huge reviews for her ability to flawlessly blend hip hop and nufunk sounds with Jamaican flavours.
