Katlego Dusky Mabasa, better known by his stage name SiAR Maspila, is a South African
DJ, Record Producer, Singer, Remixer, Songwriter and Record Label Owner in the South African
music industry. He began his career around 2003 and has released Twelve albums thus far.One
of the most admired and respected artists in the industry, Mabasa became prominent after
participating in the 2015 “1s and 2 Masters of Spin Season 2 SABC 1 Competition” that was held
in Johannesburg. In December 2015, He won the "Summer Song of The Year" award at Thobela
Fm
Early Career:
Mabasa was born on 16 March 1988 in Pretoria Atteridgeville, South Africa. He later moved to
Mogogelo Hammanskraal, The Mamelodi-based producer and DJ has worked for some of the best
productions houses such as House Therapy, Super House Records and Two Tone Entertainment
relationships which the release of some of his very first successful attempt as a recording artist,
namely “Dj-Hu Nose Presents Themcass & Maspila, Super House Vol. 5, Jukebox Vol. 4, House
Station 3, House Document 2 Presents Dj Themcass & Dj Maspila, Juke Box Vol. 3 & Black Boys. SiAR
Maspila’s musical roots can be traced back to his early childhood when he spent extensive time with
his neighbour who happened to be a producer. Going to his neighbour’s house every day, SiAR
Maspila drew a tremendous amount of inspiration to produce music. Everything changed forever for
SiAR Maspila when the neighbour asked him to help; SiAR Maspila was then hooked on producing
forever.
SiAR Maspila, Nyekx and Mosco later in 2010 they formed an Afro-House band trio called Afrikan
Roots which was signed to 999 Music in 2015, jump-starting him into the South African dance music
scene when they won song of the year in 2015 for the song Ko Morago featuring Dj Buckz. His first
big break was when He has taken part in the show called “1s and 2s Masters Of Spin Season 2” on
SABC 1 and came out of position 4. He would also like to see Afrikan Roots as one of the best groups
across the globe. he has experienced the hardships, the growth and the transition to Afrikan Roots
brand. He has played a contributing role to what Afrikan Roots is currently. SiAR Maspila would like
to be remembered by the “Chuba Cabra” music that they produce as Afrikan Roots and their
captivating performances.

  2012- "Conga Chant" and "Better Half " by Xoli M, these topped charts in
  the Afro house category by reaching top 10 and were also number 1 and 2
  respectively @ Afrodesiamp3. Compiled from the E.P releases "Shikisha and
  Better Half "
  2012 - Collaborated with Dj Sylivi, who was rated as 2nd best in Angola. In
  addition, created the hit song "Akuluwo with Bebucho Q Kuia,." The song
  blew up in South Africa but had a huge impact in Angola thus winning 3
  international awards in Angola.
  2013 - Represented South Africa in one of Luanda's biggest Music festival
  which was broadcasted nationally across Angola.
  2015 – Participated in the Metro fm Heat wave experience tour in Kimberly
  2015 - Signed with 999 music and managed to win the Summer Song of the
  year for 2015 by the track “Ko Morago” at Thobela FM.
