7am-8am. August 1995, Paris, France.

In 1995, thanks to my Friend Ron-X aka Rony, I worked for a year in an Underground After Hours Club in Paris. 7 days a week, from 5 am until my Boss, a Fierce Lady, would say it's over. The New Week was nearby Place de Clichy. I had such a great time playing this club. Not the best sound system in town but that room was just feeling right and I was very free to play & experiment whatever I was feeling like as long as The Boyz & Girlz were having it on the dancefloor! There were some very epic moments... I wish I could go back in time...House Music was very creative back then. The dancefloor was very receptive and open minded. I did have material to play all morning long without getting my audience bored. I could play Hard, Dark and very Girly. I was in My Own Zone. Last week, as I was going through my DAT collection, I've found one DAT where it was written "Sami, Live @ New Week, 5-8 am, Paris, August 1995". It's the only Live digital recording I have from my year at The New Week. 3 hours Live, vinyls only, three Technics SL1200 MKII, one CS Signature mixer and my Dj booth always in the dark. No computer, no sync mode, no fx toys, no bullshit! RAW! FIERCE! SHARP! & TIGHT! like it should always be. I can still feel the energy of that morning from this Live recording 20 years later. I have no picture of those mornings. You were not allowed to take pictures in a club back then... We were fully living the nightlife, we didnt' need smartphones. No time for pictures & texting anyway. Close your eyes, It's like a time machine! It's one warm & early morning in August '95, it's between 5 am & 8 am and the Crowd is feeling the Vibe. This was House Music and the way I used to play & party in '95. And yes, it was in Paris... I was not a Flamingo yet. But that's another story... Always In Stereo, Sami Dee.
