How many friends have fallen to your axe?
In memory of those loved places, plants, trees, rivers, habitats and homes that have been torn from us and destroyed. All the lost corners where we stopped to rest, where we spoke of our fears for the future, where we shared company with the beings of the forest and felt that we were walking on sacred ground, where our plans and dreams took root and grew into beautiful trees that bore unique fruits.
In eternal thanks to those beings that welcomed us into their forest, into their ecosystem, those ancient beings who allowed us to climb their high branches and take up their cause. Too many have fallen. Our wild kin are under attack and its up to us to stop it.
In solidarity with the wild places under threat right now, being destroyed right now, all those beings who deserved so much more than this betrayal of everything alive, may the chainsaws sieze up and their monstrous machines crumble into the sand.
An end has to come. Will it be our greed that ends first or our nourishing Earth?
