If you are in Dublin you should definitely check out this little creative oasis in the Temple Bar district. You will certainly visit this area anyway, because there are a lot of funny, colorful and noisy pubs, as well as an entertaining nightlife. The art gallery Icon Factory doesn't really stand out off the mainstream streets at first, but in the meantime the collective project, which has been in existence for ten years now, has become a hotspot not only for art lovers, but also for anyone interested in Irish history and culture in general. The creative and committed group around initiator Barney did not stop with creative changes after the opening of the Icon Factory and brings consistently positive impulses to the city. This was followed by the Icon Walk, a stroll through formerly run-down alleyways, but which are now covered with works of art and information boards about famous and important Irish personalities. In an interview the visual artist and painter Aga Szot tells us the story of the Icon Factory and the Icon Walk. She has been involved in the project from the very beginning and is now housed with her atelier in a studio room right next to the Icon Factory.
