Dance of Epimetheus and Janus

We circle a big one
Small moons in the rings
So far from the Sun
Hidden in the wings

We are not like the others
Full of our own uniqueness
Not big like our brothers
Ugliness is our weakness

But we have each other
Lost in our own little dance
Pulled along by our mother
Pulled together as if by chance

Our dance of tugging and pulling
From outside to inside and back again
From afar it is alluring
From so close there is a strain

Janus is the bigger
With so much more strength
Janus has all the vigor
But the dance is at arm’s length

But Epimetheus is no wimp
She can rise in the orbit
She has strength with no limp
She can stay in the market

But around and around they go
In and out to and fro
One courted the other the beau
They dance together with a flow

We watch you in this dance
The view tugs at those near and far
Each has their last chance
Jostling the rings leaving a scar
