Pocket House Presents:

Pocketcast Vol.36 Soul Jacka

Bio:

Soul Jacka (DJ/Producer) Formerly known as Slap Jack has been a House Ambassador from the southern part Of the U.S.A. since 2006.
A slow steady approach to the scene originally starting out playing guitar for a Jazz Band (A Melting Pot Jazz Band) but as one of the founding members died from lung cancer in 2006 the band soon fizzled out. This was when his DJ career started with the “Kabuki Dance Krew” from Lafayette, LA. Spinning all House music and some Old School Breaks, he was landing gigs like "Festival International” one of the nation’s largest world festival's and a local Art Walk, were his house music was made known outdoors on the streets corners of his local downtown area.
In 2006 it was born right there on the streets with only hand full of Chi-town jacked out house tracks from "Mark Farina, Derrick Carter, Stacy Kidd, JT Donaldson, Bryan Jones (before Golf Clap) Joey Youngman (for those who still remember Joey) and Roy Davis Jr." These great House pioneers became some of his greatest influences to him. Soul Jacka House flavors contained Jackin House, French Disco, House, Deep House, Soulful House, Classic 90’s Piano House and what he likes to call Vintage House.
Later the producer side of Soul Jacka came out, getting a chance to work with Roy Davis Jr. on a few projects and producing his own House tracks that have appeared on Snazzy Traxx Records, Disco balls Rec., Karmic Power Rec., Recovery House Rec., Yoo’Nek Rec., Soul Shift Rec., and LW Rec. And also has been a Sound Designer for a few side projects for Sample Magic in London.
Soul Jacka looks forward to making his mark on the House music scene.
