Mostly Funk with some Hip Hop.
This is a promo mix from a tape I did in about 1991. It was for my first night at which I was the main resident. The night didn’t last too long thanks to writers etc coming down and doing what they do at times, you know, bottling people and shit like that.
There is a funny story about how the night started however. I went to a meeting with the hierarchy at Lounge to discuss plans, when I said I wanted to call it ‘Black Eyed Peas’ I was told there was ‘no such thing’. That I had confused some Cajun phrase or somesuch and furthermore that people would come expecting to see the ‘Black Eyed Susans’, a Melbourne band. lol.
