Music can be such a powerful force in the world, from helping to inspire movements with it's unifying sounds, to sharing perspectives, experiences and other information with listeners who wouldn't have otherwise heard them. At times, songs contain more truth about history, than what becomes the present and accepted establishment take on the past (Killer Mike's "Reagan" is the perfect example of this, listen to that song, and then google what Obama has said about Reagan when he was President).

This mix is a collection of such songs, and other music expressing a dissatisfaction with the stat quo systems of oppression which still exist in many forms. It's a tribute to those standing up and actually acting to fight for equality, and possibly also a means to introduce some of these topics to someone previously unaware of the issues.

Thanks for taking the time to listen!

In some circumstances, just making music and existing as an artist is an act moving a cause forward.
