Music and sounds of Obeyer

‘Obeyer’ is the passion project of Midlands based producer, Alex James. Born from a love of music production and 3D design, the ‘Obeyer’ project is set to take it’s audience on a voyage. Exploring the depths of technical sound design, music production and 3D modelling. This project is as much about the art as it is the music, where experimentation and curiosity take the reins.

‘All In Your Head’ is the projects debut release and showcases 4 tracks from a back catalogue of unreleased music.
‘Enter The Void’ is the oldest track on the EP, originally being made back in February 2015. It’s a sinister stab at your typical 4x4 house beat. Flickers of neuro influenced sound design can be heard littered throughout the arrangement, accompanied by horror-esk vocals taken from the acclaimed ‘Darker Sounds’ sample packs.
Second in line for gathering virtual dust is ‘Chelsea Smile’. Produced at the beginning of 2016, this quickly became a favourite among piers. A heavily clipped bassline and screaming lead carries the track on it’s destructive path. More riffage than you can shake a stick at, this is by far heaviest on the EP.
The title track ‘All In your Head’ is a progressive track starting with a simple one note, brain shaking bassline. The introduction of alternating percussion, whining synths and a feature from one of Nottingham's finest Grime artists, Shxdow, keeps the track evolving.
Last on the list is ‘Tunnel Honey’. Freshest track on the roster, this halftime romper packs a heinous amount of low end and delivers a mid track switch up that’ll have you reaching for those trigger fingers.
