Jacob Dubé has been programming at CJRU since the spring of 2015 and co-hosts a weekly program Radio Free Krypton. He is a current news editor at The Eyeopener, writer at Motherboard and was the editor-in-chief of the Canadian online arts magazine CanCulture. He’s a Franco-Ontarian and fluent Francophone with a great interest in French issues within the province, especially related to culture and education.

A look into the French Canadian comic scene: how it stands out against the English and European markets and why creators are sticking with it.

The English market is dominating the comics industry, and Europe has a strong hold on the French side. Where does that leave Canada? Do we try and mimic the bigger industries or just do our own thing? We spoke to store owners and comic creators in Toronto and Montreal to find out the weird, unique state of French Canadian comics.
