~ Brooklyn's Finest ~ Da IceBerg Slim Meets Frank White Project ~

If you know anything about HipHop then you know as fact that 2 of the best MC’s to ever touch a Microphone (Biggie “Frank White” Smalls and Jay Z aka “Iceberg Slim” hail from Brooklyn aka “The Thorough Boro.”

What is also a little known fact is that before his untimely death Jay and BIG were collaborating on an album that didn’t see the light of day. They were to put together a super group called the Commission. Hip-hop heads, did you know that Jay-Z and The Notorious B.I.G. were planning to form a supergroup together called The Commission”

While Biggie and Jay-Z had already collaborated on numerous occasions – “Brooklyn’s Finest,” “I Love the Dough” and “Young G’s” – a full length album with both Brooklyn legends going head to head and Puffy quarterbacking the project with his business acumen could have resulted in a complete industry takeover.

Sadly Biggie passed away in March 1997, before the project could get off the ground. Jay-Z has gone on to become one hip-hop’s biggest moguls while Biggie has cemented his legacy as one of the greatest rappers of all time, even with his limited catalogue.

Sooooo, as I’m apt to do, I wanted to bring to you, Black Diamond Style, an experience of what I think the Commission would have produced for your musical pleasure. Soooooo, I’ve combined 5 compilations of Frank White and IceBerg Slim into an Experience I like to call “ Brooklyn’s Finest – IceBerg Slim Meets Frank White Project”

Have to give credit to Dj Mello and Dj Cinema for “The Commission 1 and 2”. Also, the makers of “Blue Eyes meets Bedstuy” Dj Cappel and Smitty. and also the tributes made by Dj M-Rock for Biggie and Jay-Z. This is the concert I would of loved to attend.
