~ Shea Butta Soul Sessions ~ Jodeci Meets H-Town ~ Come Feel The Love~

Blessings to all my Black Diamond Ear Candy Community. I am blessed and thrilled to bring to you another beautiful installment of the “Shea Butta Soul Sessionz” Today’s installment is a special one for the loverz because it features 2 of the 90’s very best New Jack Swing Sexy Soul legendary groups Jodeci and H-Town presented Black Diamond Shea Butta Style.

For the unfamiliar Jodeci comprised two sets of brothers raised in and around Charlotte, North Carolina: Don Jr. “DeVante Swing” (the musical mastermind of the group) and his younger brother Dalvin “Mr. Dalvin” DeGrate, and vocal powerhouses Cedric “K-Ci” and Joel “JoJo” Hailey. The name of the group “Jodeci” was the band’s moniker a syllabic mélange of all of their names shortened and put together.

The DeGrate and the Hailey brothers were raised in Pentecostal and Holiness churches in which sacred music served as a primary vehicle for theology; both of their families were nationally prominent on the gospel scene and were featured on the Billboard charts. From the early 1990’s Jodeci were the known as the "Thug bad boys of R&B" because they came across as the rugged, badass, but loveable ladies affection of R&B/New Jack Swing Soul. To this present day you can’t say New Jack Soul without mentioning the legends Jodeci.

Likewise, in 1992 the evolution of Rhythm and Blues was altered significantly for the world of music connoisseurs’ and millions of fans from the southern city of Houston. H-Town, named after the city they hailed from debuted an R&B soulful sound synonymous with universal acclaim, skillfully rocketed several hit singles to chart topping success, humbly acquired the longevity of mass audience appeal and righteously maintained a powerful presence on the spectra of performance entertainment and have been firmly grounded in the spotlight for nearly two decades.

With talent and precise orchestration, H-Town has mastered the minds of music’s adoring fans over and over again with their signature sound. Originally H-Town consisted of twin brothers Keven “Dino” Conner and Solomon “Shazam” Conner, along with their long time friend Darryl “G.I.” Jackson. In 2003 a tragic car accident took the life of Dino the vocal lead of the group…may he continue to R.I.Paradise.

It is by not accident that the Ladies love the music of Jodeci and H-Town because of the countless slow grooves that spoke of emotion, sensuality, sex and lots of thug loving machismo and thugs who expressed their emotions and their hearts in their music.
