Sounds of SecVee_Sa

SecVee is a young South African DJ/Producer, whose real name is “Mathabatha Nkoana” (born 22 June 1993). His love for music was mostly influenced by the surrounding he grew up in and also the music that was played by his father and uncles at home. Fast forward 2009, when he was still in high school, SecVee decided to learn how to deejay in-order to fulfill his hobby which later became his passion.

In 2011, After enrolling at the University of Limpopo, His love for music continued to grow more and more to a point where he decided to teach himself how to produce music from his university dorm. In 2012, He met Karabo ”KCee-D” Dipela and Malesela “Dj Mkg” Makgoba, then decided to form a house music trio called “SoulCatchers_SA”. Therefore, the group was later joined by other two members, Lethabo “Mr Bash” Matjebe and Jacob “JayHova” Peta.

After the formulation of SoulCatchers_SA, the group gained recognition around the University and nearby areas. The same year, He joined the University of Limpopo Dj Society, where he played at events that were hosted at the University. Therefore, In 2013, the group initially came together to work on their first project, and released an Ep titled “Soul Unity” under Skalla records owned by Monocles & Slezz. Prio to completion of his studies at the University of Limpopo, SecVee has also ventured into a solo career, working with the likes of Villager Sa (VT Records), Matt Solo (Melodic Contour Records), MeTHolic(Melodic Contour Records), Underground Oak(Melodic Contour Records), Andrew Felo, Mr. Groove Sa (The Coscate Records), and among others.

Previously SecVee was based in Tsukuba City, Japan and He had a chance to grace the dance floor with Deep house and Deeptech sounds from 2016 - 2019, sharing the stage with the likes of Audiot909, SB10, DJ Spra(OctBass Records), Wada Yosuke, DJ Thomas (from Paris, France), Krait, KojiKoji, Natsu, and among others. Also been featured on events such Fuzz (Club Octbass), Intight (Club Octbass), Pyromania (Zu-Bar, Shibuya), and Bastille Nights (Bar Discos) has made him to gain more recognition, not only in Japan but also in other parts of the world. SecVee as a young deejay and a music producer, He is set to make waves all over the world with his creative, artistic and soulful music.
