became a dj at the end of the 80's i can't remember exactly what year or month. i do remember buying some of my first records french kiss and mighty real jimmy sommerville so i guess i was buying records in 89. i remember extremely excited when i first went to megazone in huston and as soon as i walked the the dude behind the counter greeted me and asked me what kinda of music i liked. i don't remember saying anything because i was kinda nervous because this was all extremely foreign to me at this point. i just shrugged my shoulders up and didn't say nothing and he i think might have been the first person to directly say the words techno to me. when i heard him say "techno" it might have been the first timne i ever heard that term by this time it might have been 1990 but perhaps 89 still, weither way it doesn't reallly matter. at that location i remember going back a few times and they mobved a couple other times but huston had so many record stores that carried vinyl i mean vinyl was absuloutely huge at the time. there were also clubs everywhere. so many clubs i went to only once and i wen t to them all the time. i was clubbing before i began djing which is kinda how it works i guess. incidently i began producing around the same time but wouldn't get really good for a long long time. i don't want to make this too long so what i should mention is that when i was still listening to punk and skating (this would have been 87 or 88, a skate friend from high school gave me three cassettes he said check these out. i had no idea what this shit was. at first i didn't like this so much but as i kept listening i began to really get into them. front 242 front by front, skinny puppy vivi sect vi and ministry twitch. except for vivi sect vi which is probably my second favorite skinny puppy album (remission being my favorite) those are still my favorite albums by those artists. that music made such a huge impact that obviously today i still havea huge amount of love for electronic music, techno of many variety. a lot of other factors allowed me to dive further into this music as i kept a close ear on it all the time and the fact that it was so new and listening to the development of it morph in the late 80's into the early nineties and continuing further into the late 90's. i mean it's been quite a ride for me. i may or not add to this later at some poont but i have to get ready for work.
