I recorded this vinyl only DJ set (79 minutes) at home. For this seventh volume of my Funk & Soul Sessions I’ve selected 25 tracks by 25 different artists. This selection is quite heavy on the New Orleans/Louisiana and Memphis sounds, but there is a great diversity of outstanding music in there. How about that Bobby Rush track?! He is featured for the first time in my Funk & Soul Sessions. I was lucky enough to see him perform a few years ago in New Orleans. Fred Wesley is also featured for the first time. I saw him perform in my hometown of The Hague in 2023, that was phenomenal. He even got Dutch people dancing.
