I write and record these songs myself. Its a goddamn lot of fun, keeps me sane and most important to me: I love having this song in my head and then being able to complete realize it on record.

I fire up my MPC, lay a drum track, record guitar and then push those guitars to the left and right sides. I lay the bass up the middle. Compress and mix. Then load the whole thing into cubase to lay vocals, extra guitars. I mix constantly and keep going back to the MPC to add anything that the track needs.
