Isidora of Tabenna in Egypt, Fool for Christ

Saint Isidora struggled as a Fool for Christ at the Tabenna Monastery in Egypt, North Africa in the 4th Century. She fulfilled the dirtiest and most-difficult tasks at the monastery. Instead of cooked food, she drank the dirty dish water. Many of the nuns regarded her with contempt and considered her a demoniac; but she maintained love for others, meekness, patience and mostly silence. Once a desert monk, Pitirim, had a vision; an Angel directed him to the monastery to the holy St. Isidora. When he arrived, he fell down at the feet of St. Isidora and asked for her blessing as her holiness was obvious to him; he told the nuns that St. Isidora was closer to God than all of them. The astonished nuns apologized to St. Isidora and asked her forgiveness. Saint Isidora fled her fame at the monastery and her fate remained unknown.
