Since it's original release in 2009, "Mek Dem Gwaan" has been a certified hit and a classic in underground Roots circles. Although, due to the unscrupulous business practices of his previous musical partners, MAS has never seen a dime from a tune written and musically composed on his own. "I was only 20 years old and I wasn't as knowledgeable business-wise at the time" says MAS "but the time is coming when they will have to give me my fair share. It's not about money per se, it's about the principal". Shady business aside, this one is still a massive Roots anthem and it has been given new life with the legendary production skills of Leroy "Horsemouth" Wallace of Rockaz fame. The rebellious tone of the tune hasn't changed as King MAS supplies a slogan for all to leave the wicked and the naysayers to their own devices and "Mek Dem Gwaan"..
