Welcome the 108th chapter of the Deep Electronics Podcast. This weeks set is mixed by Dutch DJ and Vinyl collector Cathy.
Her set is a wonderfull mixture of the finest deep techno at this moment. Enjoy!
Eindhoven in the south of the Netherlands is homebase for Cathy (real name Cathelijne Daniëls). She’s been collecting vinyl for a few years now, but she wasn’t DJing right from the start. It took a few years and some soul-searching to finally take the next step and start to mix her records together. It wasn’t till June of 2015 she felt confident enough to take her mixes public. Soon after she caught the attention of the local club scene and started to play in clubs on a regular basis.
“ If you ask me what kind of music that i’m into i can say it shifts between a wide variety of house and techno. Style doesn’t matter, over all my sound can be described as deep, atmospheric and moody. In my selection i try to find a balance and i want to create a story. It’s up to the listener what’s the story about…”
She finds inspiration in many things, spent hours on Discogs and digging for that one ’special’ record. Favorite labels are Delsin, Sushitech and Giegling to name a few.
Yagya - Sleepygirl 1 (Delsin)
Son.Sine - Upekah (Delsin)
Gable - Open space (the Lauren Bacall)
Anton Kubikov - Unmoving (Mayak)
