Music and sounds of Julian Mesa

Julian Mesa is 22 years old from New York City, but now based in Las Vegas. Julian started his musical career at the early age of 8 years old by learning about percussion and music theory. He then became a drummer, and on the side began mixing songs to explore his DJ skills.

Later on he began to just work on mixing songs, and that was his turning point to begin his career as DJ in 2002. His influences were always European electronic music. Koios' musical interests were always Techno, Tech House and Tribal Music. DJ's such as Chus & Ceballos, Carl Cox, Richie Hawtin, Dubfire, Marco Carola, Marc Ashken, among others were the people who influenced Julian to push his career. In 2006 he started playing at local bars at which he showed his ability to mix these genres. From there he started performing at various venues and began to grow as a DJ.

After a couple years he stopped playing music as his major focus, and started focusing on his sports life. He went to play soccer and gave all of his attention to it. In present day he is re-emerging as a DJ now that soccer is not what he wants to pursue. He has been making a comeback into the music scene since 2013 when he lived in Miami for a while. There he began to work with different venues around the city of Miami, and started getting his name out to the public. In 2014 by playing at various venues around New York such as Up & Down NYC, Le Baron NYC, Pacha NYC, Pink Elephant and SkyRoom Rooftop showing his underground vibes with an European music taste. Has performed with artists such as Alexi Delano, Blond:ISH, Julio Santo Domingo, Holosound, Silky, Klubtr​otter, amongst others. In the city of Las Vegas he currently holds a residency at TRU Afterhours Lounge, and has performed at Artisan Hotel, Drais Beach Club, Luna Lounge, and other local venues.

Fall of 2014 he got the opportunity to join NYC based artist collective Thesis NYC along NY residents Hristo Atanasov, Jessie, Emre Ersolmaz, and Vesselin Slaveykov. 2015 has been a year of new beginnings. Started his own Record Label based out of NYC, Explicit Codec, which has showcased its artists at Space Ibiza NYC. Also has been preparing everything for the launch of his EP early 2016.
