Benny Profane's first couple of gigs took place in house parties.
This recording is from our first public appearance, it was at our mate Declan's party in his flat on Parkfield Road, Liverpool.
You can hear Declan between songs, trying to get his hands on our Mescal & such.

Declan introduced us with some words written by me, cut up with some words from William Burroughs.
It went something like this -
'Born of the bastard, taste like a bonfire, here they are Benny Profane,
stay out of churches, & never wear a lawman's badge'.

Declan was gone at 27.
It was nice as I was preparing this post to share some memories with Declan's long time friend Angie Sammons.
She sent me the photo of Declan, with Ken Campbell's dog Werner, to use for the cover art, the photo was taken by Angie in the Everyman Theatre where both she & Declan were members of the Youth Theatre.

The gig was recorded by Pam Young.

Jackson - Vocals
