I have a long standing love affair with UK Garage, in all its forms. Whether it be the soulful side or the dirtier licks of the Speed Garage booty shakers - I loved it then and love it now. As such, I have always played UKG as a dj and over time the sound would break through at times with newer producers showing their love and respect - the rise of acts like Disclosure really brought it to the fore and whilst many tried to cash in and rebrand it (as 'Deep House' or whatever else to try to sell cd's as the next big thing....), those who know, know - UKG has always prevailed and has kept us older heads nodding and bringing newer ears and feet to floors means that it is back and that can only be a good thing.

I have other classic UKG mixes on here (check the two Rewind4Ever mixes) but this is a mix that was inspired by and as such features some of the new wave/nu-skool UKG tracks, or some at least with a UKG influence (albeit some more than others), along with some other more house-ier cuts that are doing it for this old-skool UKG afficiado. Some are brand spankety new, some not as so, but either way they are keeping the old skool vibe alive and the flame burning bright.

Turn it up - play it loud - play it proud. If you are new to the sound then hopefully it may inspire you in turn to look back to the origins - you will be pleasantly surprised ;)
