This is a remixed and remastered version of this track: soundcloud.com/jamiehowton/tec...o133-2-16-shots which I made shortly after the Laquan McDonald videotapes came to light. I lived in Chicago for almost 30 years, I didn't realize during that time just how violent daily life is there. I tried to add a sense of that mechanical daily violence in this remix and a somewhat random but nevertheless unrelenting chaos. The Kick Drum and baseline represent the head-down, one heavy-footstep after the other mentality required to live life in Chicago, they never slow down - the patterns get more complex just like our daily lives. The audio clips are all courtesy of Fox News, at last, I have found a use for you - thanks. The Chicago PD clips are louder and more harshly processed because they are that way in life.
