What is Spomenic?
The former Yugoslavia is dotted with monuments that were built in the spirit of postwar unity but are better known for their futuristic aesthetics. Many have described spomenic — a Slavic word for “monument” — as looking like something out of a science fiction movie.
I used to live in Trieste and i breathed the Yugoslavian socialist air. This is my way to think out that atmosphere, magnitude, pride and force. The spomenic celebrate the struggle of Partisan armies that challenged the fascists during the WWII.
