Facts about 1974: Richard Nixon goes down for Watergate, Skylab 4 returns to Earth, Mariner 10 approaches Mercury, Hank Aaron of the Atlanta Braves breaks Babe Ruth's home run record, Leonardo DiCaprio is born, 6 cents for a stamp, 36 cents for a gallon of gas, and the release of Steely Dan "Rikki Don't Lose That Number" on ABC Records. This was the most successful single of the group's career, peaking at # 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 and biggest commercial hit. I first heard this song on Chicago's WLS and ran out to buy the 7" single. A very mellow but uplifting and catchy dance tune which paved the way for many other hits from this soft rock band which as a kid, i thought was one person. I extended the intro and added an outro as well as additional kicks and percussion, few reverse edits. I love reverse edits, though it's not typically used. Thanks to the Ghost Producer for running it thru filters and additional production. Also ran thru Mashup2/SoundForge/ and mastered via LANDR. Clocks in around 5:00, @123bpm, 320kbps.
