From Ska, Rocksteady and early Reggae to contemporary Dancehall, from HipHop to modern Roots and Dub music – the selections of True Lion Sound are the stuff of legend. Authentic vibes have been a top priority for Selectah Bear and Mad Doc from the very beginning. This commitment is strongly shaped by personal experiences in Jamaica and remains a core element of True Lion Sound to this day: accompanying artists in freestyle sessions, live and unfiltered.

In September 2015, Selectah Jahkeem, a close friend of Selectah Bear and Mad Doc, joined the crew as an additional selector. Still operating under the name True Lion Sound Barcelona, Jahkeem released a series of mixtapes on Mixcloud. With his relocation to Jamaica, the project naturally evolved into True Lion Sound Kingston. In spring 2015, a collaboration also began with roots and dancehall singer Amlak Redsquare, who has been an integral member and MC of True Lion Sound since 2018.
