Lempo

Manchester, United Kingdom

Lempo AKA Mike McGuinness is a Manchester-based house music producer and DJ. Best known for his infamous 8-year residency for heavyweights ‘Bitch Events’ as well as previously presenting radio shows on Unity Radio FM and Cheshire FM, he is now a sought-after name in the music industry. His signature flat cap, unique track selections and wildly inspired performances have made him stand-out as a natural-born entertainer.

Lempo’s success has seen him tour the world, performing shows for major club brands including Ministry Of Sound, Cream, Pacha, The Warehouse Project, Gatecrasher, Sankeys, Hed Kandi and many more. He has become something of a seasoned pro on the white isle of Ibiza and a regular fixture on the UK festival circuit, with four consecutive years performing at Mint Festival and Parklife. Lempo has had the honour of supporting household names such as Snoop Dogg, The Prodigy, Calvin Harris, Fatboy Slim, Rudimental, Disclosure, Swedish House Mafia, Steve Aoki and Skrillex - to name a few!

In 2010 Lempo was voted Manchester’s number one DJ in a vote open to the public on ‘The DJ List’. Over the years support from industry peers has come in the form of Pete Tong, Danny Howard, Kissy Sell Out, Claude VonStroke, Eric Morillo, Andi Durrant, Laidback Luke and Roger Sanchez - with productions gaining plugs on the world’s biggest electronic music stations such as BBC Radio One, Capital FM, Rinse FM and Kiss FM.

Along with his hectic tour schedule, Lempo can always be found in the studio working on his own productions. He has signed material with many prestigious recording labels including CR2 Records, DBR Recordings and his own Applique Music imprint which is fast-becoming one of the most respectable UK house labels since its launch in 2011.

Collaborations with artists such as house legend’s K-Klass and Dirtybird’s Will Clarke, along with featured vocals from the likes of American rapper Princess Superstar, Canadian MC Flipside and Fatboy Slim’s vocalist Roland Clark have boosted Lempo’s credentials with many successful chart positions under his belt - including ‘The Best Times’ with Brazilian chanteuse Angelita Jimenez which reached #2 on Trackitdown and #3 on Traxsource in 2010. ‘Jack in Boots’ featuring vocals from Nancy Sinatra was placed at number #13 in The Music Week Club Chart and #36 on Beatport in 2011, while ‘Boston Boogie’ (collab with Will Gold and Japwow) became his first #1 as it hit the Trackitdown top spot, peaking at #24 on Beatport in 2012. ‘Playboy Bunny’ (collab with Artful) featuring Hollyoaks star Ashley Taylor Dawson on vocals was #1 on JunoDownload and #54 on iTunes in 2014. In 2015 ‘Woo Yeah’ scored Lempo his second JunoDownload #1 and peaked at #82 on Beatport, followed-up by the summer hit ‘Making Love’ featuring a vocal from X-Factor Holland finalist Barry James Thomas - going straight in at #1 on JunoDownload and #32 on Beatport.
