I'm very pleased to welcome my great Austrian friend DJ mixcloud.com/Bawaka . For this 4th episode, he is providing us a stunning mix, influences coming from the two hemispheres: Celtic, Medieval, African, Aboriginal... with thrilling and surprising parts ! The intent is to mix various genres, Bawaka has certainly exceeded all my expectations and maintained a very high quality level. I will let him describe his work. This series is dedicated to my guests, their pleasure is to make mixes and share them with all of you while having fun, the main reward is when you listen to it, love it and share it. Feel free to leave a comment, we are always very pleased having your thoughts, no doubt Bawaka will be more than happy to answer you :)

Bawaka:
Dear music lover!

I wanted to take Yaz´s discription on the series in FCTU 01 to the limits. With the selected tunes I very quickly noticed that this would be far out of my comfort zone. It took time for ideas to come up to make it kind of work.
So by far not a one off recording - trying to get the message over with every tune, being, that music has no boundaries whatsoever and most certainly can be seen as an or the universal language. Easily understood everywhere.
Tracklist with some notes ….. wish I were a tiny mouse in your homes or wherever you are to see the reactions whilst you listen 
1 Värttina - Käppee I bought the album Ilmatar about 12 years ago. 4 Finnish ladies carrying on about terrible men or something.... Itunes gives an explicit warning LOL... My Finnish clients gave me the translation - not that bad - just some female locker room talk :)
No chance in mixing with that track so had the idea of desert wind from the Sahara and layered Scotland The Brave on top - being a proud half Scott I thought this is appropriate :) and a good way into introducing a Celtic section with 2 Mediaeval Babes - The Snake followed by one of my all-time favourite songs 3 Afro Celtic Sound System - Eireann (Verse).
Because it sounded nice and fitted pretty well I reduced the speed from 4 Viken Arman - Drop Of Raki feat Jo.Ke, Iann from 105 to 95 followed by 5 Kyson - You. Now this series being Yaz´s idea and knowing a tiny but important bit of his personal history I wanted to include 6 Cheikka Rimitti - Nakhla as a personal gift for him and introduce and welcome the Arab or Oriental Nations. Pretty sure Yaz grew up with her (yes - a she …) unique voice and heard her plenty of times. She sure was a major figure in Algeria and was still giving concerts in her 80´s. She moved on 2006 aged 83. Mixing Kyson with Cheikka Rimitti is a bit rough though... Cheffls (Shuffles) or maestro Yaz himself would have done this much better… Anyway… French spoken in Algeria - next some French in the set and back into my comfort deep zone for a while (phew!) with 7 Sahalé - Le Petit Prince, 8 Mr. Statik - Lighthouse and amazing 9 Lee Jones - Joyful Noise....
Some noise that is joyful are children playing and 10 Fever Ray - When I Grow Up starts off the alternative section with my personal playground edit :) followed by 11 Choice - Siamese Twins and 12 Dillon - This Silence Kills.... The beautiful vocals of 13 Garmana – Euchari led be back up North. This former Swedish folk rock band finished the “Hildegard von Bingen” album 2001 combining mediaeval sounds with electronic music, singing Latin texts by Hildegard von Bingen. On it goes with Argentinian 14 Juan Pablo Cerabolo very fresh warm deep bass driven tune Preludio, followed by superb 15 Just Emmas Remix of Zakir – Ruhi and 16 Paax (Tulum) - Albina back and into a very mellow deep section with 17 Dominik Eulberg - Aeronaut and 18 Landside - Chains.
My last chosen tune is a traditional song from the former Aboriginal Band 19 Yothu Yindi – Gapu to whom I have a deep connection with, being adopted into their Gumatj Clan from Far East Arnhemland in Australia back in 1997 giving me the name Bawaka.

Really hope you enjoy my contribution to this amazing series and sincerely hope you have a great time listening to some tracks you might not have heard before. Thank you dear maestro Yaz once again for this unique opportunity for me being part of this series. Love it ♥

The most beautiful thing I already know is
YOU GUYS GET IT !!!
Peace & Love, Alec

Stay tuned the next episode features Andy Kennedy ! Much more to come :)

Thanks for stopping by and have an agreeable listening !
