Just Another Fucking Mix-Tape (80's EDITION)

For this special edition of our mix series we have dug deep in to our record collections, focusing on some of the tracks that have influenced our own sounds in the studio.
The electronic music of this era was very much in an experimental and evolutionary stage and at the time was considered to be quite futuristic, The beauty of it for us was the fact that it was so open-ended in terms of style, with no strict adherence to specific songwriting rules but rather an attitude and spirit that combined aspects of punk and pop with a slick production sheen. A lot of this music was directly influenced by the use of TR-808 drum machines, modular synthesizers and funk sampling and has created the templates for today's club music that is now common place on our sound systems.
