Nuke York

An old head. Started spinning at the end of the 90s because no one was playing the music they wanted to hear at the clubs. Played all around the DMV, from illegal warehouse parties, to field events, to clubs that have long since been convertered to parking lots.
Reading the phrase "All music is dance music" in an interview with Afrika Bambaataa was like a secret key that unlocked a new level of creativity. Moving away from traditional club music then bringing back elements found far afield to incorporate all sounds into mixes.
You never know excactly what you'll get in a set which is what makes these so fun. Hip Hop, House, Breaks, Techno, Drum and Bass, UK Garage / Bassline runs up against Post-Punk, modern Goth, 90s Industrial, Pop, Punk, Indie, Alternative, Salsa, dembow, Dance Hall tying everything into a celebration of sound meant to inspire movement.
