Drexmeister

Amsterdam, Netherlands

H there, I am Drexmeister. I am a Writer, Producer, Session Musician, Mix Engineer, Mastering Engineer.

I work with or am/was part of “Dutchican Soul“, “Human Resource” (with Guido Pernet), “The Cliniq” (with Jeffrey Fung-Loy & Nevil Douglas) DJ Eva, “Ruffneck” (Patrick van Kerkhoven), Plattèl, New Believers, Dwight Brown, Merel Sluman, Peter Jericho, Mark Bien, Landa Perdon, “Nil” (with Lennaert & Hans), Robert Rivera, Nikki van Dam, Nicolas Bassi and many others.

Influenced by my father’s classical taste and my mother’s feel for soul, I started out following some piano classes. This experience was shortlived because my unwillingness to read notes, as I preffer the auditive approach when making music, and in the eyes of my teacher further effort would prove to be futile.

Determined to prove myself and driven by the passion for music I became a self taught piano man, in the process adding other instruments (guitar, saxophone and percussion) to my toolkit.

In the late eighties I, along with a few friends, formed a band called Human Resource. Our track “Dominator” was a massive hit worldwide, and would have a huge impact on the house scene. Artists like Joey Beltram, Frank de Wulf, Speedy J and C.J. Bolland made remixes of “Dominator”. The song now holds a firm #15 position in the Dutch Techno Top 1000.

With Human Resource taking on a more hardcore approach I decided to quit the band and pursue a solo career resulting in a few releases in the 90’s. As time went by his focus shifted to the art and science of Mastering and Engineering resulting in the Solitone Music Studio’s.

My sound was influenced by artists such as George Duke, Quincy Jones, Depeche Mode, Roberta Flack, Bob Katz and Nile Rodgers.

I have released songs and remixes on the following record labels: 2B Free Records, 80 AUM, Adaptation Music, Barcoda Recordings, Check It Out Records, CNR Records, Diamondhouse Records, Hardsoul Pressings, King Street, K.N.O.R. Records, Logic Records, Outer Rythm, Panevino Music, Promark Music, R&S Records, Radikal Records, Random Soul Recordings, Reelgroove, Ruffneck, Salted Music, Solitone Music, Soul Deluxe, Sony BMG, Soundmen on Wax, Soundz Dynamik, Supercords, Tesseract, Tricircle Recordings, XL Records, XSV Records.
