Donnie's series are 30 minutes special mixes, released once a month.
Why special ? All of the mix will say it.
I really want to share with you a part of myself, my influences, my roots, of all the tracks I love to listen to.

Some of you might be disappointed, and say : "that's not what I used to listen from the Don."
But It's the goal of these series, I always try to go where nobody's expecting me to go.

Trying to «N-large Your Parties» my friends, eheheh.
I hope you will enjoy, discover or remember, some tracks.

The Volume 2 :
SPECIAL UNDERGROUND RESISTANCE MIX
Underground Resistance is a musical collective from Detroit, Michigan. They are the most militantly political outcropping of modern Detroit Techno, with a grungy, four-track musical aesthetic and a strictly anti-mainstream business strategy. They have exerted their portion of Detroit Techno's cultural influence towards promoting political activism. (©Wikipedia)

Underground Resistance is cristal clear reproduction of my influences. Founded in early 90's, by Mike "Mad" Banks, Jeff Mills, Robert Hoods & Darwin Hall .

What is the common point between these artists : Eminem, Obie Trice, Aaliyah, MC5, Jay Dee, Stooges, Iggy Pop, White Stripes, Diana Ross, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, The Jackson 5, Juan Atkins, Derrick May, Kevin Saunderson, Jeff Mills, and Mike Banks : they are all made in DETROIT.

I love everything made in Detroit : from Soul Music (Tamla Motown) to Techno stuff, Pistons (Basket team), the French name of the city (comes from the french word "détroit" which means the river crossing the town)...

I know that the famous DJ Rolando aka The Aztec Mystic "Knights Of The Jaguar" is missing in this mix. But I really wanted to present to you the other fantastic Underground Resistance tracks.
Unfortunately I wish I could have done more than 30 minutes mix due to the amount of incredible tracks.

This mix is dedicated to the people of Detroit, always rejuvenating like a phenix

TRACKLIST
1 - Underground Resistance - Amazon - UR 020 - 1992

This one is my fav ever on this label. You can feel all the soul of the motor city. The synth chord sounds orchestral, intense, magnificent, something emotional, and melancholic. It's like an anthem for Detroit. There was no better way to start the mix than using this mythical track.

2 - Galaxy 2 Galaxy - Timeline - UR 2001 - 2001

I didn' t know that Galaxy 2 Galaxy are still performing (see link)

>>> youtube.com/watch?v=ySxZeJFixm4 ;
Such an amazing band.

3 - Underground Resistance - Hardlife (Aaron Carl Remix) - UR 044 - 2001

The mix of House and Techno is what I like to listen to, today. Something Techno with house music elements.

4 - Mad Mike - Hi-Tech Dreams - UR 071 - 2007

This is the Boss of Underground Resistance. I've a greatest respect for him and his creation.
The story about "Jaguar" (fr.scribd.com/doc/22131876/Under…-tobias-c-van-Veen) is the proof of his complete integrity. This is what Underground Resistance is.

5 - Suburban Knight - The Warning - UR036 - 1996

What an amazing piece of Piano !!!! :) I love this EP. The most known track from him is probably "The Art Of Stalking" (www.youtube.com/watch?v=I7N8tNuuGv8) . Such a classic tune too.

6 - Galaxy 2 Galaxy - Hi-Tech Jazz (The Science) - UR025 - 1993

Once again, Galaxy 2 Galaxy. Jeff Mills and Mike Banks had an idea that Jazz music and musicians could operate with the same "man machine" doctrine like Kraftwerk. Galaxy 2 Galaxy created a new genre : Hi-Tech Soul and took it to live performance.

7 - Underground Resistance Feat. Yolanda - Living For The Night (Kevin Saunderson Mix) - UR007 - 1991

This one could fit in a regular mix from me. Kick ass track.

8 - Mark Flash - King Of Light - UR090 - 2011

I discovered this one 2 years ago, I thought Underground Resistance stopped to release track. During summer 2011, I was browsing the net and OHHHHHH God Damned !!! New Underground Resistance track, that drove me insane. It reminds me "Knights Of The Jaguar" from Dj Rolando. It became instantanetly a classic tune for me.

9 - Underground Resistance - Transition - UR7-3000 - 2003

I love the lyrics. Positive lyrics... And the beat is really addictive.

10 - Davina - Don't You Want It - UR016 - 1992

I think I listened to it a million times. Origanally released on Happy Records, it became a classic on Underground Resistance.

11 - John Collins - All We Need - UR080 - 2009

From Gospel techno to Disco house. Dope !

12 - Underground Resistance - Electronic Warfare (Take Control Mix By Aux 88) - UR034 - 1996

Underground Resistance is not only a techno and house label And I love this about the label. Electro from Detroit is still insane ! Influenced most of the time by Kraftwerk (Electro Body Music).

13 - Dj Skurge - Shut It Down - UR077 - 2007

Ah ah, Shut It Down! The mix is almost done… This one is really close to ghetto house & Booty, isn't it ? Another style from this great label.

14 - Underground Resistance - The Final Frontier - UR003 - 1991

The final track of course !
Same as in the first track, All Detroit souls in one track. It was part of the first releases of the label (UR003) and the end of this Donnies Vol.2.

I apologize for the bad quality of some vinyls. Oldies but Donnies !
