Born in Belgium in 1976, and raised in France since 1981, DJ Shapes has built his musical culture by swapping Hip Hop tapes with friends, and watching MTV's world famous "Yo! MTV Raps" show while his vacations in Belgium. His curiosity led him to discover all kinds of music, from dark metal to old school jazz. He began turntablism after having experienced Electronic Music in the mid 90's. His first gigs where as resident in a Bar in Biarritz, playing House and Techno Music. He has played, and has been resident in many south west bars and clubs such as the Code Bar, The Ventilo Caffé, The Pagoa, The Mojito... Now playing in a few local bars, he's back to his early influences mixing and mashing old school and new school funk, breaks and hip hop. But if you really want to heat it up, be sure he's got some fine and kicking electronics in his crates !
