With a winning smile, and style to match, DJ Lord Samir reigns benevolently over his dance-floor subjects with everything from hip-hop to house, disco and electro to funk and soul. His style is informed by timeless innovators such as Afrika Bambaataa, James Brown, Ohio Players, and Kraftwerk to name only a few.

Residencies at NYC-mainstays like Beauty Bar and Frank’s Lounge garnered DJ Lord Samir a dedicated following of dancers like Shock-a-Lock and Firelock – and paved the way for him to play at legendary events like the Mess Around and Compete to the Beat: the Majestic Street Dance Showdown.

DJ Lord Samir’s most memorable DJ moment happened one night on New York City’s Lower East Side. He reminisces: “I filled in for DJ Eman at Sapphire and everybody danced from beginning to end. The first song I played was ‘Doing it to death’ by The JB’s. That’s exactly what I was doing that night!” DJ Lord Samir continues to do it to death every time he mans the decks – his majestic style banging dance-battles and dance-floors across the globe.
